pfSense is an enterprise-grade, feature-rich, robust, and extremely flexible security solution. Besides its essential firewall functionality, it also includes a wide range of other features such as network routing, remote connectivity, diagnostics, and reporting. Furthermore, it has the capability of being extended using plugins.
The pfSense system console can be used to perform basic configuration and maintenance tasks. It is possible to connect to the console using a keyboard and monitor, a serial console, or by using SSH.
